Hi! I'm DeVon, the founder and CEO of Hean's. My spice journey started in 2021. I was in Kampot, Cambodia, at the time, visiting family while exploring our luscious Kingdom of Wonders and our cultural roots. As I watched my aunt in the outdoor kitchen, I realized that the key to delicious, home-cooked meals is using high-quality, freshly-prepared ingredients. Whether it's meat, fish, spices, or herbs, the origin of the flavor is in the ingredients themselves. 

Even the most luxurious dishes rely on the internet source provided for production by others. 

After pondering on this idea for days, I stumbled upon a nostalgic memory of my grandparents (Khmer Rogue Refuges) teaching me a family recipe that I hold dear. I sourced the farmland and markets for the fresh and organic spices and herbs. I loved the idea of keeping our recipe a family recipe, yet I was looking to share these memories and recipes with others through my love for nature and what nature brings to us, well, from me to you, Spice, and Herbs in a zero-waste and recyclable way from out and around the world.

Purchase empty jars or choose from 200 + organic spices. When it's time to refill, take your jar to the grocery bulk spice aisle or order our "perfect fit" spice refills, shipped in compostable packaging. Its zero-waste!

• Thick and durable glass will withstand damage
• Jars are assembled by hand in our Texas studio home from US and China components
• Spices are single-origin, most are certified organic and sustainably harvested

Hean's Zero-Waste Vision

Our aim of zero-waste is being approached day by day. We were able to decrease the quantity of packaging materials required to ensure the safe delivery of your purchases to use more robust glass. The package alone contains a set of transparent, weatherproof plastic spice labels. Kindly inform us if you would prefer that we not include the labels with your purchase. 

• Direction sheets are printed on 100% PCW paper with eco-friendly ink 
• Shipping carton void is packed with 100% PCW paper
• Water activated paper tape seals boxes and is 100% recyclable 
  
• Reuse shipping boxes and packing materials
